Makeform privacy and data: where responses are stored and how to delete them
Delete individual responses from Submissions, or request account deletion from Settings > Danger zone. The privacy policy does not name a storage region; Business adds controls to hide or mask sensitive answers from teammates.
Is it free? Free includes unlimited forms and submissions, subject to fair use; Visibility control for hiding or masking fields requires Business.
Steps
To delete a submission:
- Open your form and go to Submissions.
- Click the row's trash icon, labeled Delete. In a team, you need permission to delete submissions.
- Confirm Are you sure you want to delete this submission?
To request account deletion:
- Open Settings and go to Danger zone.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete my account.
Storage and retention
Data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 via Supabase and AWS, and in transit with TLS. Makeform does not sell your personal data.
Submission data is kept until you delete it or remove the form. Account data is kept while the account exists and for up to 12 months after termination, unless deleted earlier on request. Drafts made without an account expire after 1 hour. Makeform keeps a copy of those guest builder conversations and the generated form for up to 30 days to improve generation, then deletes it; this does not cover answers respondents submit to published forms.
For access or erasure requests, email support@makeform.ai. Makeform responds within 30 days. If you need a specific storage region or a data processing agreement, contact that address before collecting data.
Connected services and sensitive answers
Third-party integrations you connect, such as Google Sheets, Notion, and Slack, receive the data you send them. Business Visibility control can hide or mask fields from teammates.
The Terms prohibit collecting payment card numbers in form fields. Use the Payment block, which uses Stripe, to collect payments.
Cookies on public forms
Makeform does not show a cookie banner on public forms. Your own Google Analytics or Meta Pixel loads only if you add it; those tracking features require Pro or Business. Check what your own laws require.

Which region stores my responses?

How long does account deletion take?
Your request is reviewed and processed within 7 business days. You receive an email confirmation, and deletion permanently removes your account, forms, submissions, and workspaces.
Can I request a copy of my data or ask for erasure?

Can I hide sensitive answers from teammates?
