How to save partial submissions in Makeform
Partial submissions collect answers from people who fill in part of your form but do not click the submit button. Turn the feature on in Settings > General on Pro or Business.
Is it free? No. Partial submissions require Pro or Business.
Steps
- Open your form and click the Settings icon in the top bar.
- In General, turn on Partial submissions.
- Click Save Changes.
- View partial responses with your submissions.
Use this feature when you want to collect answers from people who started filling in the form but did not finish submitting it. Partial responses appear with your submissions after you enable the setting.
Limits on partial responses
You cannot export partial submissions through integrations or enable email notifications for them. Keep these limits in mind if your workflow relies on sending responses to another service or notifying someone by email.
Partial responses also do not count toward Limit responses per option. An unfinished response does not use a place under an option's response limit. See option response limits for how those limits count responses.
Partial submissions or save answers for later?
Save answers for later is a separate, free feature in Settings > Behavior. It lets respondents continue later in the same browser. Nothing is sent to you until they submit.
Partial submissions collects answers from people who did not click the submit button and requires Pro or Business. Choose the setting based on whether you want to collect unfinished answers or let respondents resume in their browser.
