Notion Integration

Send Makeform submissions to a Notion database so responses become database entries.

Notion automations are created from a form’s Automations tab. You can choose a workspace, choose or create a database, and map form fields to Notion properties.

What the Notion integration does

When someone submits your form, Makeform can create a new page in a Notion database.

Use it for:

  • Lead lists
  • Content requests
  • Support intake
  • Applicant tracking
  • Research notes
  • Lightweight CRM workflows

Connect Notion

  1. Open your form.
  2. Go to the Automations tab.
  3. Choose Notion.
  4. Connect a Notion workspace or choose an existing connected workspace.
  5. Select a database or create a new one.
  6. Review field mappings.
  7. Save the automation.

Map form fields to Notion properties

Makeform can suggest mappings between form fields and Notion database properties.

Review the mappings before saving, especially when:

  • Two fields have similar names.
  • A Notion property has a different type than the form answer.
  • You want to skip a field.
  • You renamed fields after creating the form.

Export existing submissions

If available during setup, use export existing submissions to backfill responses that were already collected before the Notion automation was connected.

For active production forms, test with a copy or a small sample first so you do not create unwanted database rows.

Testing checklist

  • Submit a test response.
  • Confirm a new page appears in the selected Notion database.
  • Check mapped fields.
  • Confirm the Notion workspace connection is still active.
  • Disable old Notion automations if the destination database changes.

Troubleshooting

No database appears

Make sure Makeform has access to the Notion workspace and database you want to use.

A property is missing

Refresh the database properties, then review the field mappings again.

Responses go to the wrong database

Edit the Notion automation and select the correct database.
