How to add Google Analytics or Meta Pixel to a form in Makeform
Add Google Analytics 4 or Meta Pixel under your form's Settings > Tracking to track form activity. This feature requires Pro or Business; Meta Pixel works on hosted form links, not inside embeds.
Is it free? No. GA4 and Meta Pixel tracking require Pro or Business; dashboard response summaries are free.
Steps
- Open your form and go to Settings > Tracking.
- Under Google Analytics (GA4), paste your Measurement ID in the format
G-XXXXXXXXXX. Find it in Google Analytics under Admin > Data Streams. - Under Meta Pixel, enter the Pixel ID from Meta Events Manager. You can add GA4, Meta Pixel, or both.
- Click Save Changes.
- Open the live form and check real-time reports in GA4 or the Meta Events Manager test tool.
What each option tracks
Google Analytics (GA4) tracks form views and interactions with Google Analytics 4. Use the Measurement ID for this setting.
Meta Pixel tracks form views and successful submissions for Facebook and Instagram ads. Use the Pixel ID from Meta Events Manager for this setting.
Track embedded form events
For a form embedded on your own site, open Share > Embed and turn on Track form events. This sends form open and submission events to your page so your page's own analytics can listen to them.
Your site can use those events with analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel. Follow the embedded form event documentation for the events your page can listen to.
Use free response summaries
If you need response summaries in the form dashboard, use form analytics. Those summaries are free on every plan. Adding GA4 or Meta Pixel tracking is a separate Pro feature, also included in Business.
Makeform is a free AI form builder: describe what you want to collect and it builds the form for you, with unlimited forms and submissions on the free plan.
