# How to connect Makeform to Claude

Add Makeform's hosted MCP server at `https://mcp.makeform.ai` in Claude's connector settings to work with your forms and responses. Makeform is not in Claude's connector directory yet, so you add it as a custom connector with the URL `https://mcp.makeform.ai` and sign in with your Makeform account (OAuth). **Is it free?** Yes. Makeform requires no paid plan for MCP access, but feature plan rules still apply, such as Pro for translation.

## Steps

1. In Claude on claude.ai or Claude desktop, open **Settings** > **Connectors** and choose **Add custom connector**.
2. Name the connector Makeform and paste `https://mcp.makeform.ai` as the URL.
3. Click **Connect**. You are sent to Makeform to sign in.
4. On Makeform's **Authorize Application** page, click **Approve**.
5. Back in Claude, ask it to call `get_workflow_guide` first. Then try “List my Makeform forms” or “Create a draft RSVP form for a June 14 picnic.”

## Connect from Claude Code

Run this command to add the server, then run `/mcp` inside Claude Code to sign in:

The server uses Streamable HTTP and supports OAuth or an API key sent as `Authorization: Bearer <key>`. The rate limit is 60 requests per minute.

## Review drafts before publishing

`create_form` and `create_form_from_prompt` always create drafts. Edits are proposed with `propose_form_edit` before they are applied with `apply_form_edit`.

### What can Claude do with my Makeform account?

Claude can list forms, create and edit drafts, publish after confirmation, read submissions, export responses, and get analytics. Tools include `list_forms`, `get_form`, `list_submissions`, `export_submissions`, `get_analytics_summary`, `create_webhook`, and `get_form_embed`.

### Can Claude translate a form on the free plan?

The MCP connection is free, but individual features keep their plan requirements. The `translate_form` tool requires Pro.

### Can Claude publish a form without confirmation?

No, publishing needs a preview and a second, confirmed call. Creating a form through the connector makes a draft.

### Where do I revoke Claude's access?

Open Makeform's **Settings** > **Connected apps** to manage or revoke access. Approved OAuth apps are listed there rather than under API keys.
