# Makeform documentation introduction

Makeform supports three primary ways to work:

1. Build visually in the web application.
2. Integrate through the REST API and browser Embed SDK.
3. Connect AI agents and coding tools through the hosted Streamable HTTP MCP server.

The public REST API uses `https://api.makeform.ai` as its base URL. The hosted MCP endpoint is `https://mcp.makeform.ai`. Authenticate server-side with a Makeform API key or, where supported, an OAuth access token.

Never expose API keys in browser code, public repositories, prompts, screenshots, or logs. Use the browser Embed SDK for public embedding and a trusted server for authenticated API work.
